1961 Thomboy

This Thomboy was purchased brand new by my father back in 1961. Because it was the last year’s model, he got the boat, motor, and trailer for $1,500. I even have the original sales slip to prove it.

It has been well maintained and inside stored every winter. This past spring I replaced some of the deck. It used to be beautifully stained and varnished, but was looking really shabby and weathered. I tried to match the stain but could not find anything to match exactly.

I would like to one day strip it and restore the original finish, and could use some help if you know of any details of the original stain color.
